What is a Dark Den? What are the Benefits?

A Dark Den is essentially a safe space, a place a child can go when they are feeling overwhelmed or anxious to find their equilibrium. It offers a quieter, darker, enclosed space for the child to relax and have time to calm/regulate their sensory system.

A Dark Den can also stimulate a child’s senses, sparking curiosity and igniting engagement which is why in the My Sen Den Den package we include a Fibre Optic rug floor and a selection of robust high quality light toys. You may find your children actually concentrate more and focus on the toys in the den as they feel so safe and regulated.
